Further information

Its time for another step-change to retain Kent's position as a leading waste disposal authority. We already know what we need to do to maximise demand for Kent's household waste as a resource. Now we need a new Head of Waste Services to make it happen. If you are ambitious and ready to rise to the challenge, turning strategy into action, we need you to lead our dedicated team. We expect you to be qualified to degree level or equivalent with extensive experience of leading and delivering a range of services within a highly political environment as well as practical experience of managing multiple teams and large budgets

Your expertise will be needed to ensure that our service is efficient in dealing with Kent's household waste on a daily basis. The disposal of 700,000 tonnes of waste a year is a complex task. The post-holder must have unique logistics and problem-solving abilities. Of course well-honed negotiating skills are essential.

This post will enable you to drive change and work collaboratively to seize opportunities with private and public sector partners. With outstanding communications and teamwork you will have a key role in leading waste management, deputising for the Director of Waste Resource Management, and working with elected members to ensure that our vision becomes reality. You will have the capability to rise to director level in the future and the determination to succeed.
