As part of both the Council and local NHS commitment to bring together the strategic leadership for commissioning in children and young people's services and children’s health, we are looking for an outstanding Service Director to lead and enhance our partnership working between both organisations to deliver best possible outcomes for every child and young person in Derby.
You will take responsibility for delivering against our current priorities which include the commissioning of early intervention and prevention services as a part of our ‘Keeping Families Together’ and 'Looked after Children' strategies. You will lead on developing relationships with health partners to deliver children's priorities in the Health and Wellbeing Strategy. The role also embraces a range of commissioning responsibilities for our schools including our capital programme, school place planning, admissions and school organisation.
You will be expected to work with local Clinical Commissioning Groups to champion the needs of children and young people so that these are reflected in the contracts of all our health providers and to work with the NHS Commissioning Board Local Area Team to deliver the Health Visiting Programme. You will also be expected to develop strong working relationships with General Practice and Public Health in support of vaccination and immunisation programmes.
We are looking for experienced managers with strong track records in their respective areas who have the skills and expertise to play a corporate role as part of the senior management team of the Council.
