The Local Government Association (LGA), the national representative body and national voice for local government, is seeking two exceptional ambassadors to support our member authorities to adapt to the challenges facing public services and promote us as the most trusted part of the public sector.
Head of Programmes – Local Government Finance
Whilst you should be prepared to support all the Association’s policy work, the prime focus of this role is to lead on local government finance and so you will preferably be a qualified accountant and finance specialist with direct experience and professional credibility in the sector. Working closely with the Chief Executive, Executive Director, member authorities and councillors of the LGA, you will develop and commission cutting-edge and innovative policy work, building partnerships across the sector. You will also need to have outstanding influencing, lobbying, communication, negotiating and relationship building skills.
The drive for greater localism and improved outcomes for all councils across England and Wales mean in uencing across the political spectrum is crucial.
