The Local Government Association (LGA), the national representative body and national voice for local government, is seeking two exceptional ambassadors to support our member authorities to adapt to the challenges facing public services and promote us as the most trusted part of the public sector.
Executive Director – Finance and Policy
Reporting to Carolyn Downs, our Chief Executive, this post is a unique opportunity that will position you at the heart of the local government policy agenda. You will work closely with our Chairman and political group leaders as well as other senior politicians and chief officers across local government and the wider public sector. You will have an excellent understanding of local government finance policy and knowledge of all other aspects of local government policy, along with an inspirational leadership style. Your impressive track record will enable you to engage at the most senior levels across Whitehall, local government and beyond.
The drive for greater localism and improved outcomes for all councils across England and Wales mean influencing across the political spectrum is crucial.
