Director of Public Health

North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) and North Yorkshire and York Primary Care Trust (NYYPCT), are seeking to jointly appoint an exceptional Director of Public Health, which pending legislation will transfer from NYYPCT to NYCC in April 2013.

You will take a fresh approach to improving the health and well-being of our widely spread community. Creatively delivering change you will work with local councils, communities, voluntary sector, public health teams, health services and clinical commissioning groups to test ways of using the new levers and changes in the system positively, building public health capacity across a whole range of workforces to deliver effective public health interventions.

You will want to make public health everybody’s business. You will think in terms of healthy streets, healthy villages, healthy communities as well as healthy people.
