Workforce Performance & Talent Strategic Lead
£53,981 - £58,030 per annum
Stafford – with county-wide travel.
At Staffordshire County Council, we’re launching a brand new Organisational Development Service to support major transformation. Now we’re looking for a skilled professional with vision and drive to join us.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of OD, you will design and deliver our strategic approach to developing people performance and talent management. Your responsibilities will include succession planning and driving the progress of our adaptive change capabilities. It’s an exceptional opportunity to join our Operational Management Team (OMT) and develop a stimulating and inclusive strategy that will ensure that we make the most of diverse workforce talents. You will lead a small team that uses people management intelligence data to inform the Council’s key strategic plans and build partnerships with a range of external organisations to commission innovative, bold solutions and achieve your aims.
Educated to degree-level (or equivalent), you will be an experienced Workforce development professional. You have led strategic workforce planning and development in a complex organisation, ideally in both the public and private sector. What’s more, you can co-ordinate projects; manage conflicting demands; analyse data to make decisions; and win the respect and confidence of people at all levels. Strong communication skills and commercial acumen will be integral to your success. A catalyst for change and a champion for innovation, you understand the challenges facing local government. With these talents – plus CIPD membership (or equivalent) – you’ll be capable of leading performance management and talent strategies to drive improvements in organisational performance.
About Staffordshire County Council
One of the largest local authorities in the UK, Staffordshire County Council is committed to providing its citizens with the highest standard of services. To that end, we’re embarking on a transformation that will enable us to work more innovatively, effectively and cost-efficiently. A major part of our plans is for Organisational Development to support corporate and service changes. So we are setting up a new service which operates as an internal consultancy. It’s a hugely exciting development that calls for dedicated leaders with a gift for building relationships and the drive to support change. If you have the vision and determination that’s required, you could help to shape the Council of tomorrow.
