If you’re a workforce development professional with drive and vision, there could be a place for you at the heart of Staffordshire County Council’s new Organisational Development team.
About the role
In this brand new role, you will report to the Workforce Performance & Talent Strategic Lead. Your main challenge will be to help create and deliver workforce development interventions to support the Council and service improvements and equip our employees with the values, skills and knowledge to meet the changing needs of our communities. Day to day, you’ll build strong relationships with public, private and third sector organisations. Through these partnerships, you’ll ensure our OD and workforce development strategies are implemented as planned, so that our people have the skills and capabilities to excel, both now and in the future.
Educated to degree-level (or equivalent), you will be an experienced Workforce Development professional, ideally with training in the field. You have produced annual strategic plans and service workforce development plans linked to short-term and long-term strategic objectives. What’s more, you’ve acted as the link between managers and OD, providing workforce development solutions to achieve business objectives. Your expertise covers the design, implementation and evaluation of all aspects of workforce development including competency framework, skills audit, People Performance, learning and development and relevant policies and practices. Strong communication skills will be integral to your success, as you’ll need to network and influence stakeholders. A catalyst for change with a resilient, future-focused approach, you understand the challenges facing local government. With these talents – plus CIPD membership or a recognised management qualification – you’ll be capable of interpreting management data, working in a high-performing matrix environment and leading progress.
