Working with CCTV &Emergency Planning team to make Hackney Safer
The post holder will ensure that the Borough’s strategy meets its statutory obligations under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (CCA) and employs the highest standards in doing so. The post holder will develop and implement the protocols and procedures required by the Council to deliver the services necessary under the CCA and other relevant legislation and non-statutory regulations and guidance.
Your remit will be to supervise the multi-disciplinary services required to deliver Emergency Planning services to the borough in accordance with current and future legislation ensuring that the authority’s specific duties are professionally implemented and maintained.
You will manage the preparation, publication and distribution of the Borough’s Emergency Plans.
Operationally manage and develop the partnership functions required to provide an affective service delivery during emergency situations will also be included.
The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge and understanding of Emergency Planning Legislation, standards and good practice together with a detailed understanding of the Emergency Planning Processes. An ability to work within a genuine partnership environment with other key stakeholders to ensure that the overall objective of improving the safety for residents is achieved and to lead and participate in multi agency working groups involving public, private and voluntary organisations will be required. Evidence of leadership experience and interpersonal, networking and team skills, including the confidence to work with staff at all levels across the council and externally to achieve shared goals and outcomes.
We are looking for someone with qualifications in relevant Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Management disciplines or has relevant experience.
