The Church of England plays a vital role, bringing a Christian dimension to the life of the nation, with a primary aim to be a transforming presence in every community. This is a significant and complex organisation and the work of the Church is delivered through 44 Dioceses, subdivided into parishes, which operate at the heart of the Church of England to deliver its mission.
The Church is changing and, as part of our work to create a new vision for the 21st Century, we are about to embark on an unprecedented and significant programme to lead the potential dissolution of the three Dioceses of Ripon & Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield and the creation of a new Diocese in West Yorkshire and the Dales. This is a highly ambitious, challenging and far-reaching programme, which will impact upon both our unique structure and culture and upon the way in which we will continue to engage with the communities we serve.
Working closely with a diverse group of stakeholders across the three Dioceses and nationally within the Church, the Programme Manager will play a critical and high profile role in driving the planning, management and delivery of the complex range of projects within the programme. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate a very recent track record in delivering large and complex organisational change programmes. Whether your background is in the public or private sector, you will be a proven leader, with acute political sensitivity and judgement. You will be an outstanding communicator, with the ability to influence and drive complex change, overcoming resistance and challenge and, above all, somebody who will have the determination to turn vision into reality. The rewards will be considerable – not just for the Church and our communities, but for you as well. There are not many jobs where you will genuinely be able to deliver something unique or set the blue print for the future.
