Commercial & Contracts Services Manager
This great opportunity has arisen as a result of the previous post holder gaining promotion to a Head of Service role with a London Authority. This role will enable you to gain wide-ranging experience across a number of areas, including in building new leisure facilities, programme project planning, and as lead officer in contract management delivery.
You will be responsible for the strategic planning, development and management of the Council’s Major Contracts, which include Waste Management, Grounds Maintenance and Leisure Management. You will effectively deliver first class, responsive, and flexible services, which meet our high standards of service provision and support the Council’s vision to contribute to a high quality of life for all residents, with a cleaner, greener, healthier and safer District.
You will be accountable for the strategic planning, development and delivery of parks and open spaces, sports and leisure facilities (including a tennis centre and athletics facility) and reducing waste across the District (achieving 60% recycling by householders by 2015). You will also take the lead on the Council's procurement strategy and promote a commercial focus, providing strategic direction on commercial, contracts and procurement management matters.
With experience of managing a specialist support team in a complex organisation, you will also have a successful track record of managing the delivery of a range of services, programmes of work and major projects.
A clear communicator with a pro-active approach, you will be outcome-focused with a strong grasp of political sensitivities. Confident and credible, you will be a natural shaper and influencer, with the ability to think beyond your service area and to play a corporate leadership role.
Benefits include generous leave, pension scheme, homeworking/flexible working (where applicable) and other benefits that are available to staff. This post is politically restricted and subject to a Disclosure Check.
