Director of Public Health
The post is available full time or job share. The Director of Public Health is the most senior advocate for public health across organisations for the population of Redcar and Cleveland. The postholder will work closely with the communities in Redcar and Cleveland and our partners to develop services that will help to improve the health, wellbeing and quality of life of our
residents. It is a second tier appointment, accountable to the Chief Executives of Redcar and Cleveland PCT and Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council. The post holder is a member of the GP Clinical Commissioning Group for Redcar and Cleveland.
We are looking for someone with the experience, drive and ability to lead through the Redcar and Cleveland transition year, to work both corporately and in partnership to maximise the impact of the new responsibility for health and well-being in Redcar and Cleveland Council from April 2013 onwards.
The successful applicant will meet the Faculty of Public Health requirements for a Director of Public Health. A track record of strategic leadership, political skills and delivery in complex organisational contexts is essential. Senior experience in a Local Authority setting would be an advantage.
