Director of Public Health
The post is available full time or job share. The Director of Public Health is the most senior advocate for public health across organisations for the population of Stockton. It is a second tier appointment, accountable to the Chief Executives of Stockton on Tees PCT and Stockton on Tees Borough Council. The post holder is a member of the GP Clinical Commissioning Group
We are looking for someone with the experience, drive and ability to lead through the transition year, to work both corporately and in partnership to maximise the impact of the new responsibility for health and well-being in Stockton Council from April 2013 onwards. From this date the post holder will be accountable to the Chief Executive of Stockton on Tees Borough Council.
As a member of Stockton Councils Corporate Management Team, the successful applicant will also play a critical role in supporting and shaping the Council’s business priorities. The successful applicant will meet the Faculty of Public Health requirements for a Director of Public Health. A track record of strategic leadership and management, political skills and delivery in complex organisational contexts is essential.
