We have recently created a new Directorate of Corporate Resources. In your role as Assistant Director of the Law and Governance Division, you will be in a position to influence change and create the best balance of functions as well as teams in your service. You will manage the Law & Governance Division including responsibility for Legal & Democratic Services; Strategic Asset Management; Property Valuations and Management and the Councils Repairs & Maintenance (non-housing) Budget and Function; Licensing; Health and Safety.
One thing is certain – this is much more than simply a legal role. You will be managing a diverse Division and be the Deputy Monitoring Officer at a time of great change for the Council. To . There will be significant opportunities for you to influence the direction and development of this high performing Council.
You must be a qualified solicitor or barrister and have experience of leading high performing, diverse teams through change, in an organisation of similar complexity. Demonstrable ability to lead cross-functional teams is a key aspect of the role, as is management of budgets.
