The Council is one of the largest employers in the borough and locally renowned for offering positive terms and working conditions, including flexible working, job shares, part-time and other schemes which aim to keep our staff happy and motivated in their work.
We work on the principle that happy staff work harder for our customers - and it shows. In 2006 we received a customer services report from the Audit Commission that said we were excellent and improving in this field. We have also recently gained Investors in People status for our internal schemes and support networks for staff.
